Mrs. Yang, a resident in Yangxun Qiao town bought a BMW car at the end of 2009 which is the second car for her three-person family. Mrs. Yang belongs to the rich, but it also shows the purchasing power of residents in Shaoxing county.

　　Although international financial crisis affects the development of economy of Shaoxing county, as an economically powerful county, Shaoxing county has recovered steadily based on the uprising consumption and purchasing power. Automobile, the second bulk commodity and consumable product, represents the economic development level and consumption competence of the people. According to traffic police division, the year 2009 witnessed the increase of 12145 automobiles, 7960 motorcycles and 12664 automobile drivers in Shaoxing county. There are 178011 automotive vehicles in Shaoxing county up till December 20th, 2009, with 70556 automobiles and 107455 motorcycles. According to the domiciliary population registration of Shaoxing county, there are 715,000 people with 0.0987 automobiles for each. That is to say, every ten person in Shaoxing county own an automobile.  ( By Ren Yuanshuo)
